 Tomorrow is my very last day and night in my house. I work tomorrow, I have a lunch Thai date with Sophie, then I'm cooking J and I our last supper in my house. We're going to use the jaccuzi for the last time. I'm going to give him the last red chair special in the house. We're going to celebrate new beginnings with a few drinks, and hopefully I can convince him to play guitar for me. <3

My father used to own this little toy safe, I was always fascinated by it. When I was a teenager I finally managed to convince him to let me have it. While packing I found the toy safe and here's what was precious to me at the time:

In two weeks, at this time, I’ll be all moved into my one bedroom apartment. HOLY SHIT. People have asked me if I’m packing, I tell them that no, since I’m only bringing the essential, I can’t pack the essential now because I’ll need it before I move. But tonight I’m looking around me… prints on the wall, African masks and souvenirs, big giant wooden salad tossing bowl I most likely won’t use until I move, cheese cutting plate, champagne flutes, electric fondue set, flower vases…. *panic* I need to start packing. I need to start taking all the old newspapers at work to pack breakables. 

I bought a new couch and love seat this week! Well technically J did. Because I so desperately needed a new couch, and because our backs were screaming, and because buying a new couch and having it delivered up the four flights of stairs to my apartment, and because I couldn’t really afford it right now, and because my credit isn’t the best, and because he’s got a heart of gold, and most of all because of an awesome boxing week sale, we got this couch and love seat:

We used the store's 2 year no interest payment plan. The monthly payments are super cheap and I'm definitely not taking 2 years to pay off this furniture, but I figured this is a good way to buy a couch and love seat for me right now, until I'm back on my feet. 2 years. We're calling them my promise couches. 

You know what’s funny? I haven’t really tried to lose weight in 2011. With a miscarriage, a separation, rounds of job cuts at work, trying hard to lose weight was just not on my radar. That’s probably the first time since I was about 7 years old that I can say that I haven’t spent the year trying to lose weight, and I’m not exaggerating.  By the time I was 9 years old everyone was exasperated with me and I was brought to a dietician. Honestly, I think that 2011 was the first year that I didn’t worry so much about weight loss, and you know what? I stayed about the same weight, which is still 75lbs lower than my highest weight. Huh.

I’m ready though. I’m ready to take charge of my health. You know one good thing I did for my health in 2011? I quit smoking. I think it’s for good this time. I feel that with continued support I can do it. 2012 is going to be a big year for me, in a good way I hope! I’m moving in less than three weeks! Eeek!

Here are my goals for 2012:

• Lose weight (1^st mini goal = 25lbs)
• Workout 3 times a week
  
• Read more than I did in 2011, which won’t be hard! 
  
• Get my finances and taxes straightened out/separated 
  
• Stop feeling guilty for being so happy
