Wouuld wearing a summer dress with pantyhose that look like... well... are exactly these, look crazy? (As in : Why are you wearing pantyhose on such a hot summer day?) I'm thinking - A below the knee lenght summer dress with a 3/4 sleeves very light cardigan over, for work.
This could be life changing...
PS - If you don't already know, going without compression therapy is not an option at all.
*IF* I happen to put a dress or a skirt on (you and I both know how often that happens) I almost always have stockings of some sort on.
I'd say if they're reasonably sheer, and nude, and you can't go without some sort of stocking, then these would be perfectly fine. I would probably be wondering why anyone would wear stockings in the summer, but then again, it seems that over here, stockings are considered part of a professional outfit even in the summer, so you would definitely not stick out.
And I guess you have the choices of wearing pants plus stockings, or skirt plus stockings, so I'd choose the skirt and at least get some semblance of a summer outfit going ;-)
Most employers require pantyhose anyway..it's not everywhere that you can wear summer dresses and bare legs. Closed-toe shoes and you'll be ready to go!!!
I agree that in a nude shade, and with closed-toe shoes, pantyhose would look fine.
I actually rarely wear pantyhose, even in the winter. Like Heather, though, my mother always made me wear them when dressing up. So, as long as you have the right nude color, I think they'd totally be fine.
Please don't wear sandals with them, though!! Closed or peep toe.
I don't think there's *anything* weird about wearing sheer/nude-colored pantyhose in the summer! In fact, my mother and grandmother insisted that I always wear pantyhose with a skirt/dress for ANY professional setting, no matter what time of year. (I finally decided the hell with it - they were too uncomfortable. I don't do uncomfortable very well. And they give me rashes, so that's an actual legitimate reason.)
I don't think it's a bad look - the only part of pantyhose in the summer that make a cringe is seeing the sewn toe-line through a pair of sandals.
But I may be weird. :)
