One-liners

I don't want to feel restrained by bullets points, as I find they look 'cluttered' when they're not more or less the same length.. I know, I'm crazy. And these are things I really want to tell you guys, I just don't have a whole story about most of these hehe.

Last Friday when we got home from Halifax, we stopped at the mailbox on the way home and I got, I think, the best news letter I've ever received. It said: Welcome to the Canada Public Service Pension Plan!

And then as we pulled in the driveway, I was shocked to see a For Sale sign on my neighbors' lawn!! Noooo! The only neighbors that we're on a 'Hello" basis with! They are so nice and quiet.. we live on a really really quiet street. I hope that we don't get horrible neighbors! (Our current neighbors are moving back up north where the cost of living is way lower, so that she can stay at home with their daughter.)

Today was my last day at my current job. It felt kind of, well.. really weird. I can only imagine how surreal it will be to go to work Monday morning and not come in the same door, but at least I'm still on the same floor in the same building, so really I can't complain at all!

I confess - I am kind of stoked that my new title doesn't have the word 'assistant' in it! LOL Trivial, I know.

It has been REALLY summery around here! All week it's been beautifully sunny, very muggy, and incredibly hot. I can't believe that people are whining about it as much as they are! Come ON! We only ever get one week or two of this a year, if we're lucky. Buy an A/C or shut up! I'll take +40 over -40 any day!!

I've worn skirts every day this week. Long skirts, because the pantyhose shaped compression socks I spent 300$ on the other day? Even if I managed to make the wet curly hair, from the olympian effort of pulling those socks up, look cute... It's still hot as hell wearing them, and the biggest reason - I don't think there's any way that I can go to the washroom and pull them back up while being dressed, even if I brought my rubber gloves with me at all times. Oh well. I would have regretted not trying.

Steph just came up from the basement to inform me that he grabbed his big headphones, put them on, felt something odd tickling his ear, took off the headphones, and found an EARWIG in the ear thing! EW!!!!  Don't worry, I googled.

I get to go for Newfoundland for work in December!! I've never been to that province!

Okay so these weren't one-liners at all. I could have done bullets I suppose, but I wasn't in a bulletty mood.

  1. I love random happenings! The headphones with an earwig is only funny cuz it's not me! We have found a few in our house too. 'Tis the season.
I agree, weather is whicked, and we DO have A/C :) Im finally tanned!! WOOT!
A year ago now we did a cross NFLD trip.(Kids, me and my folks and sister in one half ton truck) It was fun, it is beautiful there. But too much beauty can drive one mad. So I started drinking a beer called Black Horse and I soon forgot how home sick I was, how confined I was, and how I wish I had flown. St John's is AWESOME! NFLD is awesome, people are awesome. Just don't drive all the way there and back. That's all. lol

  3. I'm much more creeped out by centipedes than earwigs even though I've been pinched by an earwig but never a centipede.

Enjoy your first day of work on Monday! It is strange to go to a new job in the same building (I did that, too) but it sounds like such a great move for you!
